I live in Long Island NY. My wife and I run a limousine company. My wife and my 2 kids and I live in a legal 2 family house. We rent half the house.

Last year I had a life changing experience. I have always been intrigue by real estate and have made the decision that I will finally pursue my dream. I have had my rental for 10 years. I would like to get into buying, selling, renting, and fixing up and selling. I feel that I am knowledgeable in the field but I know after reading some posts that I have already learned some stuff already. Any help I am ready for.

The area where we live the house are very expensive. Are there people that invest away from where they live if it is more profitable?
