New in columbus ohio
Hey i just want to introduce myself the BP, im new here and also a new investor. Just a little about myself here just for those that want to know more. I stated in the "housing market" as a drywall/painter contractor in Cleveland Ohio about 2004. I worked for 4 different contractor that worked for two different big guy that gave all these guys work. They would buy these homes and give it to these contractors to rehab the house and these guys hired me for drywall and painting. These big boss would do about 5-8 house a month, so when we all get busy i would help out and do a little more work as in a little framing, plumbing, and even some electrical just helping out. (Sorry for such a long intro)
I moved to Columbus in 2007 and in Jan 2013 we (my wife and I) bought our first investment property. Its a duplex in the linden area (bad BAD neighborhood), for $11,900 and invested $6,000. Rent is $1,150 a month and we pulled equity from out home to buy this, so we are paying $150 a month for that. In Dec 2013 we got a single family house in hilltop are (ok area) and paid $3,500 and finishing the house soon. I already invested $2000 and maybe should be done with another 2grand. Rent for a 2 bed in this area is around $650 and i have no payments on this house.
I have a full time job, so real estate is a part time thing for now (sometimes it seems as more then full time), but im lovin it. I want and hope that soon i can get into this full time and quit my job. Mostly i want to focus on buy and hold but once in a while to get some cash i would like to flip. Well at least thats my goals for now. So im here in the Columbus area and doing what i can and want to say "whats up" to everyone here.
