Greetings from Southern California
I've spent a few days on BP and finally created an account! I'm really impressed by the amount of resources here (and especially how knowledgeable the members are). Definitely looking forward to learning from you all, and contributing to the BP myself.
I've been looking at listings in various locations around LA, but I don't see opportunities with upside similar to what other members are posting.
I'd really appreciate any guidance on where to get started, and which locations to focus on for the best upside potential. I understand it takes a lot more than just finding the right city / town, but would appreciate any feedback on the areas where "number make sense".
Thank you!

Are you looking for which markets specifically can hit the numbers you see mentioned? If I were to bust out a quick list, I would say-
Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, Chicago, Memphis, Atlanta, Philly, Indianapolis, KC, Ohio cities, Michigan cities....
After the numbers it depends on what you want in terms of property and location quality as to where to pick from there.
