Newbie from Manhattan, NY

Hello Bigger Pockets. My name is Craig Mitnick and I live in Manhattan, NY. I currently work for one of the Big 4 Accounting Firms in Manhattan in the audit function. I enjoy learning about new companies and assisting them with their financial reporting but the hours are pretty awful at times. I have always been interested in real estate but never knew much about it. I came across BP through a Google search and feel like I hit the gold mine! I have learned a lot from reading the UBG, and have listened to more than 20 of the podcasts in the past week. Thanks Brandon and Josh for doing such an amazing job.

My goal is to become financially independent through real estate investing so that I can spend time with family and pursuing other interests. I seem to be most attracted to buy and hold investing based on what I have learned so far. Unfortunately in Manhattan it is not so easy to break into the game and you need a lot of capital, but I am keeping my eyes open and starting to network so that when the perfect deal comes along, I can jump in! Thanks to everyone who contributes to this site, and I look forward to helping others in whatever way I can.

@Darren Sager Thanks for your reply. I work for Deloitte now, although we have now moved from World Financial to 30 Rockefeller Center. I am going to try and make it to the NYC Meetup. Look forward to seeing you there!
