First Time Investor From DC metro area, DC, MD, VA (DMV)

Hello BP users:

My name's Michael and I'm a 26 year old living in DC. Currently I'm working full time as a government contractor and researching into REI's during my free time. I'm looking to dive into real estate investing as soon as possible and hit the ground running.

Right now, I currently have placed an offer on a HomePath property and going through the counter offer stage.

My current goals with REI are:

1.) Purchase my first rental property and hopefully making this an annual thing.

2.) Start getting into buying and flipping properties.

3.) Networking and potentially finding a mentor.

@Darren Sager Thanks for all the information! I didn't realize the keyword alerts were possible. I've already read the BP Ultimate Beginner's Guide and it has provided extremely useful information and it actually helped push me out of the analysis paralysis phase and put in an offer into an investment property last week.
