Looking to learn - Twin Cities, Minnesota

Hello, name's Eric.

Found this site a few weeks ago while searching for investing and real estate. I've listened to a few pod casts and browsed some on the forums. At this point, more questions than direction.

Currently renting. Wanting to purchase something by end of summer.

My goal for the next 12 months is;

1. Purchase a fixer upper as a primary residence and fix (for experience and increased value)

or

Purchase primary home AND first investment property.

I'm tired of the rat race and need to make something my own.

2. Begin to develop some contacts; realtor, loan officer, handy man/contractors...

3. Learn

Just need to figure out best way to begin.

Experience Level

Limited to minor cosmetic interior enhancements. Have volunteered with Habitat for Humanity for 7 years, a day or so each year.

Any recommendations with a realtor would be a great start I think.

Thanks.

~Eric
