Hi all! My husband, Sasha, and I have just acquired three properties in the last year. The first house was in an auction and came with a Sec. 8 tenant. So far, so good with that experience! We are currently renovating the second house and hope to have it rented May 1. THAT has been an experience! Of course it cost more money than we expected, but not too terribly. After this is done, we'll move on to renovating the next one! Our last two properties were purchased around the same time - one was a cash deal and the other a FannieMae property.

We hope to continue investing in properties (SFH and maybe MFH) to rent in our area - currently focusing on the Jackson, MS area, but may expand to neighboring communities - and eventually flip properties. I am also thinking of getting licensed as a real estate agent in the near future. Our ultimate goal is to get to the place where our real estate investments are our total source of income (we both currently work full-time) so that we can enjoy life with our daughter!

I have already learned so much from reading the forums on this site (I'm the techie/details person in our partnership!) I'm glad to know there are people willing to share their experiences and help us newbies!

I am looking forward to getting to meet more of you!
