Newbie from Beaumont, TX

Hi everyone,

As I mentioned in my subject, I'm a new investor wanting to start out in Beaumont/Port Arthur, Texas. For the past 7 months I've been reading a lot about real estate. I've read many articles on here as well as forums. I tend to talk about it in many of my conversations but I've yet to really find anyone that truly "gets into" REI. That's why I was so excited when I stumbled across BiggerPockets.

Soon I will be starting college. I'm pursuing a degree in business management. My greatest concern is whether I'll be able to invest throughout school (if anyone has any experience in investing during college I'd love to hear about it). I'm interested in every aspect of REI but for me it's more practical to begin in wholesaling, like many investors do.

I look forward to making new friends in the REI world and can't wait to begin my career as an investor.

Welcome. Not many people from the area that invest at your age. I'm actually originally from Port Arthur, but currently invest in Nederland. You are in a great area to start off in. As long as those refineries are there you'll always have tenants.
