New Investor Starting House Flipping in Long Island – Seeking Advice!

Posted

Hey BiggerPockets community!

My name is Francisco, and I’m excited to officially start my real estate investing journey! I recently left my sales job to pursue house flipping full-time and have been educating myself on the process. While I have experience renovating my own home—expanding it from a 3-bed, 2-bath, 1,500 sq. ft. house to a 5-bed, 3-bath, 2,500 sq. ft. home—this will be my first official investment flip.

I’m focusing on flipping homes in Long Island, NY.( But i am open to other areas if they make sense) and eventually want to incorporate the BRRRR strategy with multi-family rentals as well. Right now, I’m in the process of securing financing and sourcing off-market leads. I currently have $150K of my own capital to start and am looking at HELOC options for additional funding.

I’d love to connect with experienced flippers, wholesalers, lenders, or contractors in the Long Island area! If you have experience in this market, I’d really appreciate any information on:
- Best ways to find distressed properties or off-market deals in Long Island

- Advice on budgeting rehab costs specific to this market

- As well as as additional forums, groups and resources to grow my knowledge

If you’re local, I’d love to connect and possibly work together! Looking forward to learning from this awesome community. Thanks in advance for your insights!

– Francisco
