New Investor, CPA from Katy - West Houston, TX
I'm originally from Boise, ID. As a college job, I worked as a transaction coordinator for an investor / investment real estate agent with Keller Williams. Ever since, I've been excited about investing in real estate. I have an active CPA license. I moved to Houston / Katy in 2012. I'm in my 30s.
I joined BiggerPockets after reading some forums about Lifestyles Unlimited, which someone recommended to me when he found out I was interested in Houston real estate investing. It sounds like I can find much of what I was looking for there here, if I play my cards right. And it sounds like the fees are much more reasonable.
From a personal perspective, I'm a dad. Making money is a necessary part of it and my professional experience has helped me develop a great deal, but I'd like to be able to have more options in how my time is spent as I get older, and starting with a foundation of investment now seems to be the recipe to reach those goals. As a result, my intention at this time is to seek buy-and-hold deals, but I am willing to entertain other types of deals if they fit my risk and time profile.

Hey @Bryce Christensen welcome to BP. Lots of people from Katy and the general Houston area here. Have you started looking for properties to invest? I just got my Real Estate license mainly to find properties for myself but won't mind helping others. My focus is on investment properties not owner occupied (too many people doing that already). Again welcome to BP and feel free to contact me if you need anything.
