New Investor, CPA from Katy - West Houston, TX

I'm originally from Boise, ID. As a college job, I worked as a transaction coordinator for an investor / investment real estate agent with Keller Williams. Ever since, I've been excited about investing in real estate. I have an active CPA license. I moved to Houston / Katy in 2012. I'm in my 30s.

I joined BiggerPockets after reading some forums about Lifestyles Unlimited, which someone recommended to me when he found out I was interested in Houston real estate investing. It sounds like I can find much of what I was looking for there here, if I play my cards right. And it sounds like the fees are much more reasonable.

From a personal perspective, I'm a dad. Making money is a necessary part of it and my professional experience has helped me develop a great deal, but I'd like to be able to have more options in how my time is spent as I get older, and starting with a foundation of investment now seems to be the recipe to reach those goals. As a result, my intention at this time is to seek buy-and-hold deals, but I am willing to entertain other types of deals if they fit my risk and time profile.
