New Investor Exploring Hudson Valley Real Estate Opportunities

Hi Bigger Pockets Community!

I’m a new investor based in Kingston, NY, with a focus on the Hudson Valley and Catskills regions. I’m currently diving into the world of rental property investing and exploring opportunities in my local market. My goal is to acquire my first investment property, ideally a single-family rental, by early-2025.

I’m particularly interested in hearing from others who’ve navigated the Hudson Valley or Catskills markets, especially with rental properties or creative financing strategies. If you’re familiar with the area or have tips for evaluating properties, working with brokers, or finding good contractors, I’d love to connect and learn from your experiences.

Looking forward to being part of this community and sharing my journey!

Best,
Jared

Congrats on getting started! I’m not familiar with those markets, but I would suggest finding some meetups and attending as many as you can. That will be the best spot to meet an investor friendly agent in person or at least meet other investors in your markets that can help connect you to the right agents.
