My wife and I purchased our first rental property here in Maui in June of 2023 to use as an STR as it was a consistent market, numbers worked, and we live 5 minutes away from the property so self-managing made sense! Then 7 days after we listed, the Maui wildfires changed everything on the island but we were fortunate enough not to lose this investment as it is on the other side of the island. Got off to a rough start and the tourist economy here hasn't bounced back, but this is a buy and hold deal so eventually it will even out!

Fast forward to March of this year and we purchased a single family home to also STR in Asheville, NC. Things are going well with this property which has sparked this desire to seriously pursue Real Estate Investing as a full-time business!

Excited to learn all things REI wise and continue building our portfolio and establish professional connections! Single family, multi-family, commercial, land, the possibilities seem endless and the Bigger Pockets community seems like the best way to learn and connect!
