Hello! I am new to real estate, and ready to learn! I'm really interested in creative financing, some rentals, and commercial real estate. I'm excited to be here, and meet some like minded individuals. A little bit about myself:

I'm a former Firefighter/Paramedic, veteran, and small business owner. Most of my adult life was spent working as a Firefighter/Paramedic. After COVID, we decided to make a change. We sold our home, bought an RV, and spent one year traveling. It really opened our eyes to the worlds of possibilities out there today. When we went back to our hometown I decided to not renew my certifications for fire and EMS. My wife and I opened a Chicago Style hot dog cart, and I reprised my handyman business I started prior to COVID. I've always wanted to do something in real estate, but wasn't sure what or even how to get started. I took a job last year as a General Manager for Panda Express. I worked there for about six months. It is a requirement of theirs that you read "7 Habits of Highly Effective People," which I did. It really opened my eyes. That lead me to read a few other books. One of them being "Rich Dad Poor Dad." That got me looking into real estate investing. I just finished Brandon Turner's book "The book on Investing In Real Estate With No (and low) Money Down." That has lead me here. My brain is really working now, and I'm ready to get started creating financial freedom for my family!

Beautiful Family and great share @Stephen Setzer

There is ZERO DOUBT you are on the right path and finding your way.  I highly suggest attending as many local real estate meetups as you can.  Otherwise, find some type of group or tribe that is into real estate investing...do whatever it takes to get around the local movers and shakers!

MY friend @Michael K Gallagher is not too far from you in Columbus Ohio and would be a great connection.  If you are ever up in Chicago I'd be happy to link up as well.

Your decision-making skills as a vet/emt will go a long way in real estate. Good things are coming your way!
