Looking for our first property

Hi, I'm Brittany. I'm excited to get started with this new community of knowledgeable people. My husband and I are looking for our first property with the intent to buy others in the future. Our hope at some point is to have a property our family can use as a vacation home from time to time. My question, would it be more beneficial for your first property to be a location you're uninterested in using? Maybe it makes no difference. I have no idea! I'm fresh. I'll take recommendations please! Thanks!
