Hey Everyone!

I have finally decided to stop lurking around and try and become one of the active members of the forums. My name is Stoney Lowstetter and I looking to get into real estate investing this year. I am a very analytical person, and have been spending my time reading. It has finally hit me that I will always want to keep learning and need to make those steps towards actually starting.

So my first step of action for getting the ball rolling, which I know many people say isn’t always necessary, was enrolling in real estate courses to get my license. I should be done with that some time next month and have already landed myself a place with Better Homes and Gardens here in my area. So I feel like I am definitely making progress, currently I am working in Apple Retail, but will be making the switch after I am all done with testing. I want to work mainly with investors while working there, for obvious reasons.

I want to make myself useful to fellow investors new and old. In helping out you guys, in any way I can, I will be doing myself a favor in learning more about investing. I really can’t express it enough that I really want to reach out to any of you I can and try to help. In doing so I know I will gain knowledge I will find useful the rest of my time investing. Right now I have free time, since I am just part time at my current job and getting my license, and I know some people are probably lacking in the time department and would love to be able to lend some of mine.

My real estate goals are to invest in small multi-family properties and work my way up into apartments, and eventually development. So I am trying make real steps towards these goals, and I want to do that as part of this great community. Well I hope to talk to you guys soon.

stoney, i recommend going to a couple REI clubs on their free night: the rich club which is off hwy 290 and lu (lifestyles unlimited). go on the free intro nights and take a pen and paper. take copious notes and ask questions and get business cards and pamplets. then at the end of each seminar, leave quickly because they will try to sell you very expensive memberships which will not help you anymore than getting free information here on biggerpockets. i have done this many times and have numerous notes, information, phone numbers and business cards that i use in my rei.
