Looking to buy first short term rental

Hi there! 
I’m passionate about real estate investing (i think) and interested in saving up for my first short term rental property. 

I’d be willing to renovate it myself.

Curious if anyone has any recommendations on best places to buy and how much i should aim to save. 


I’m sure this is very amateur but hopefully you all can help!
