New To The Game of Real Estate Investing

I am new to the market of Real Estate Investing. I have been wanting to get into it for many years but always thought it probably wasn't the right time. Well here I am going on 55 year old and been in the electrical wholesale business for about 34 years now. I am looking to invest in the future for additional income for retirement and to help build something that I can past to my son. I have been trying to gather as much information as possible and make sure that I don't make any costly mistakes right off the bat. There's some much infomation out there that it is almost to much to rap your head around it. I have tried to find someone that is currently doing rentals and flips that would just help guide me in the right direction to get started. It's time to go and figure it out. If I keep waiting and listening to the what IF's I will never get started. I don't go into anything without having a plan. Failure is not an option in anything that I put my time and money into.

Hi @Ronnie Curtis - it's never too late to start! I love your WHY for investing in real estate! You are a single dad who wants to leave a wealth for your son! Having a strong why will keep you going during the ups and downs with real estate investing.

You mentioned flips. Is your goal to flip homes and/or do "buy and hold" real estate investing?

Also, do you currently rent or own your primary residence?
