Accidental real estate investor

Posted

Bought my first investment property in 2009, bought as a primary residence but got a new job in 2011. Property values had continued to drop in the area and in order to sell that home and move I would have had to pay someone to take it. So, we found a property manager through a friend and fell into the business.

In 2023 we decided the real estate thing might work, refinanced our property from 2009 and bought an additional rental property in the same area placed it with our current property manager… on purpose this time.

I’ve been devouring all content I could find on real estate investing since. Looking to buy 1-2 more properties in 2024.

Hey Rich! Welcome to BiggerPockets! You're in the right place to learn about real estate investing. Can't wait to see you grow. Do you invest locally in Missouri? or are you open to investing out-of-state? I am always down to talk about real estate investing in Columbus, Ohio.I can share insights on investing on both single and multifamily properties, including out-of-state investing. I started off with a duplex in 2020 and now have a solid portfolio of rentals with my partner. Let me know if you need assistance!
