Welcome Eddie! I would definitely recommend checking out Brandon Turner's books on multifamily investing:

    @Eddie Garcia jr Welcome!

    Followed that same path since 2011 and it paid off big time. I have a portfolio of multis, SFs and condos within Stamford and Bridgeport. More than happy to share any information. Good luck!

    I’m in CT too and would love to chat. I’ve flipped property for a few years now and am trying to get into miltifamilies. How do you find them around here? I can’t seem to find much.

    Hey Eddie, besides the CT and FL have you considered the OH? Many out-of-state investors look at Ohio to grow their portfolios.

    It's a growing, landlord-friendly market with a ton of buy-and-hold opportunities.

     This is great advice. If you can find a quality agent in Columbus who is familiar with the trials of out-of-state investing, you can really find some awesome deals out there. I've spoken to a few people who have totally focused their portfolios on Columbus in particular, especially as big parts of the financial services, insurance, and tech industry migrate there.

     Why those two states? CT like NY is very expensive, and FL is going to have a correction its already begun. If you're lucky you will get 3- 4% net caps, why bother?  Much better returns elsewhere

    All the best

     Ya the returns are not enticing at all. Do you have any pointers?

     YES Mid-west. I live in FL and do all my biz there.  I just picked up another 3 br all in 70kish with 1300 in rent, value about 100- 105k. I am going to contract today on two more, similar numbers. Best part , I'm on the beach in FL :)

    Eddie,

    There are at least 3 real estate investor meetings in the Fairfield / New Haven county areas.  One is tonight at Pinstripes in the Sono Collection (new mall off exit 15 in Norwalk).  None of them charge.  They would be good places to meet seasoned investors and service providers and they do not have any cost other than the food or drink you purchase.   PM me you email if you want the info on the meetings.

    Hi Eddie - welcome aboard! Andrew is spot on with his two recommendations here are they were great resources that helped me along my journey. I also wanted to add this book from David Greene for long distance real estate investing given that your focus is on mulifamily properties in both CT and FL:

    Hi Eddie, congrats on getting started. I am located in CT and happy to connect with you and see if I can be of any help. Feel free to DM me! There are a number of real estate meet ups in Hartford County. They are super valuable especially in the beginning of your journey.

    Good luck!

    Thank you Aaron. I appreciate you reaching out. CT is tough. Patience is required. Have my eye on a couple of up and coming communities where investments now will go a long way. I'll stay in touch!
