Hello Bigger Pockets! - STR and general real estate novice

Hi my name is Aidan!
🌎 I am based in Charleston SC looking to invest and explore locally and currently also interested in: Blue Ridge Mountains, Cape Cod, New England, Ski stays, hunting lodges or outdoor enthusiast stays in the low-country of SC, commercial properties and really anything I may find interesting.

💫 I am joining bigger pockets to learn first and foremost, I almost bought a property with family assistance earlier this year in Charleston but it didn't feel right.

🏠 I have been interested for a while in becoming a Homeowner myself or getting my mom an upgraded home from her condo. My knowledge and interest in the STR industry has particularly skyrocketed in the past 9 months since starting employment at the number 1 PMS for Short Term Rental operators: Hostaway (we can count this as DISCLAIMER: I work at Hostaway). That being said I am not here on behalf of work  and still see the world as my oyster as far as my future in real estate. I have heard wonderful things about Bigger Pockets from friends, coworkers, clients, and Brandon Turner's book, and really just want to experience and learn as much as I can!

Welcome to BP! I am not too far away in CLT. I went to school in Virginia, right in the middle of the Blue Ridge, and grew up in Boston (go to the cape every summer). Happy to chat about any of these markets with you / connect in general.
