Hello,

Just discovered this site and had to jump in. I'm John from Pittsburgh, PA. No REI experience whatsoever, but I haven't been able to stop reading up about it and researching it since the notion came to me shortly after the new year. Currently, I work full-time in IT for a corporation. Strangely enough, I love my job and it pays the bills (barely) but I've come to realize that it's not going to make me wealthy.

So I'm looking to learn a lot (more) from this site to discover what my niche might be in REI (wholesaling, rehab/flipping, buy & hold, etc) with my current limited resources. Would love to network with others, (whether newbie like me or pro), discover a mentor and maybe shadow someone on their day-to-day routine or even when landing a deal. I have a busy life as it is with the job, wife and small kids, so I need to start slow (or perhaps go crazy and dive deep, lol). I can't deny how exciting REI is to me so far!

Hello @John Cardillo and welcome to the site! I am new to REI myself and I just got done reading a wonderful blog post about how to find a mentor. Of course, I was going to leave the link here for you but I can't find it even though I just read it like 5 minutes ago. Oh we'll I guess, if I come across the post agiain I'll try to find this post so I can leave the link for you. You're going to get hit with a bunch of emails from the BP guys that are full of great articles, posts, books, and other resources. Take a few days and read through the beginners guide and all of the other stuff and it will kind of give you a good sense of the scope of this site. So far I've seen that there is a TON of useful information and a TON of helpful people on this site. Enjoy!
