Beginner from Birmingham, AL

Hello! My name is Nic Williams, and I'm a new member from Birmingham, AL. I am currently a public school educator. I'm brand new to real estate investing. I love my teaching job and plan to keep it while I begin investing in real estate.

I am interested in investing in rental properties, mainly single-family homes and smaller multi-family buildings (2-4 units). I would like to begin by managing the properties myself until it becomes impractical to do so while holding a full-time job.

My short-term goal is to purchase my first rental property by the end of this year. My long-term goal is to match my current salary in passive income by the time I am eligible to retire from teaching (~14 years).

I've been very impressed with BP so far. I've especially enjoyed the podcasts! Thanks for providing such a great resource!
