New Member looking to enter real estate sales in Fort Myers FL
HI everybody, my name is Mike Kraus I am 27 years old and I am currently and Insurance underwriter for Medical Malpractice Insurance.
Since graduating college back in 2018 I have been in the insurance industry and I worked in a few different job titles before finding the path I enjoyed, which is underwriting. Back when my wife and I were living in CT I started reading up on real estate and rental properties as most people looking to start another stream of income do. As we were in the process of trying to move to FL I put it on the backburner. Now several years later I moved to Punta Gorda and bought a beautiful for house for me and my wife to eventually raise a family. With the stability of my job and the ability to work from while also having a good amount of free time on the weekend, I started thinking to myself there must be something I can do fill my time and make a little more money. I started out talking to my mother-in -law who is a Real estate agents for Keller Williams and she highly recommended getting a real estate license. I spoke to a broker in Naples about how he built his own brokerage, and another Team lead at Keller Williams who has rentals properties and sells full time. I started doing the research and it began making sense to me. I have sales experience in insurance, I enjoy working with people, and I'd like to help people find there forever home or investment property. I decided to bite the bullet and began studying for my license.
At this point I am looking to build relationships with Real Estate agents in my local area. My goal right now is to learn, grow, and hopefully make some long term connections along the way. I know that real estate sales is not something you can just hop into and be successful so I'd love to get some feedback from the community and see what the bigger pockets forum has to offer.
I look forward to meeting you all!
