Michael here, not to be confused by the assortment of other Mike's on the board. I just want to say great forum. It is absolutely chock-full of fantastic people and advice.

I am very new to the REI scene, and decided to get off of my butt and start actively participating in this. This is my starting point. I decided to post more and ask more questions as time goes on.

A little about myself: I'm from the Houston, Texas area, born and raised. I already have a few contacts built up of fellow investors, real estate agents, title company, and a great contractor. I'm 23, have an educational background in architecture and design, and hope to become a licensed real estate agent by the end of the year. I currently work overnight as a concierge at a mid-rise condo, so this affords me a great deal of time to research and learn online.

I'm hoping to start off small bird-dogging, then move up to assigning a few contracts while wholesaling. Tuesday I go to my first auction with my friend who has 3 rental properties. I guess you could say he is going to be my mentor. Ultimately I would like to maybe get into a rehab project by the end of the year, but we will see how things go. I can't wait!
