Hi Everyone.  I picked up a copy of the "How to Invest in Real Estate" book and am currently reading through that.

I'm not a social person, but the book tells you to get on the forum and have at it so I'm giving it a shot.   I know right now that I'm expressly interested in doing rentals.  Not too interested in flipping or wholesale.

Here's the question. For everyone else out there that was "new", what were you top 5 books starting out?

I'm in my first month of gathering information.  I don't yet know enough to go find my first deal so I'm learning as much as I can up front.   Thanks for you inputs!

None, I have not read one RE book, nor been to a guru seminar or listened to any tapes. All I did (which I tell people daily to do ) is connect with someone doing deals. I learned from them. My 1st 30 days I flipped a contract for 19k. Since then, I have done about 500, owned many rentals, PM about 500 doors, and more. Its not rocket science though some will make it seem that way. I find that those that read book after book and go to seminars never do a deal. Find a deal, fix it and rent it, really not that difficult. Its ALL about your network. I get 20 sent to me a week. I took 3 last week and will flip them this week to investors that want rentals.  Get to your local RE meetings, learn and then go on your own.

All the best
