Excited but hesitant in Honolulu, HI

Hi there everyone the name is John,

After some time of studying and trying to figure out what type of investment strategies are right for me, I'm certainly leaning towards real estate. I can't say I know too much about the trade just yet, but that's why I'm here.

I currently live in the state of Hawaii (Oahu), and I will be living here for the next few years. I'm very hesitant for this to be the place to start RE investing, seeing as how it's so expensive here.

I hope to learn a lot and from what I have skimmed through so far it seems like that is going to be just the case. I welcome any advice and criticism. Send it this way, please. I really plan on staying involved, posting and reading a lot. That's really it I guess. Off to work.
