I see the light! Anxious home purchaser brought to common sense!

Hi friends at Bigger Pockets,

My name is Jose, and I am a resident of Oahu, Hawaii, born and raised. I love our land and the culture of aloha we have here. I am an engineer by trade and am married to an awesome wife and am blessed to have a sweet little baby girl.

I have been a big fan of learning and watching a lot of bigger pockets podcasts for the past few years. I’ve utilized some of the tricks in my own personal life to pay down my debts and mortgage to a point that I have set myself up for investing, unfortunately I have not purchased a property yet.

I was recently in the market to buy a larger home for my family and I. The property would have costed me all of my liquid cash for the down payment and 50% of my monthly take home pay to pay the monthly mortgage statement and I almost went through with it. However, my anxiety and everything I learned from all of you thankfully brought me to common sense. Why buy a doodad and carry a massive financial burden when I have the funds and bandwidth to put my family and myself in line for financial freedom? So I am now laser focused to not just learn more but actually apply the investment strategies discussed here.
My goal in 2023 is to get into three investment deals and voraciously learn by getting right into the fire.
Merry Christmas to you all and I hope you all a Financially free 2023 and beyond!
