Looking to Start my own RS Investments Company

Vann Kemp
Posted

Good Afternoon BP,

Vann Kemp, New Member to BP. Currently working selling IT to the government. 6 Years W2 work experience, but looking to make the leap into RE Investing.

As a 27 year old professional I AM READY TO BUILD GENERATIONAL WEALTH to leave my W2 job in the coming years. That being said, I am looking to gain as much knowledge as much as possible on renovations, general contracting, etc. I am very hands on, but my strategy in the beginning will be helping as much as I can with my investments. As a handy man most of my life I want to continue expanding my knowledge from a construction stand point. So, I have been applying for Part-Time work for local General Contractors.

My goal for my RE Investment Company:

Mixed portfolio- 80% Single Family Rentals, 15% MF Rentals, and  5%Eventually Commercial ( When it makes Sense)

First two years: (4) SF Rentals, (1) MF Rental.

Currently my wife and I are renting, but I am looking to begin my RS investments in the 2023. Either house Hacking, FHA Purchase, etc.

Learning from BP as much as I can in the beginning via YouTube, BP Forums, and REI Mentors. I have enjoyed everything I have learned so far, but I want to see from you all if Part Time work with a GC makes sense for my goals or a waste of time. If that is a waste of time where should I lean in the most to get my Investment company off the ground in 2023. Feedback is much appreciated.
