Hello all! So in keeping with Joshua's advice on how to go about starting a discussion/introduction...

My name is Sharrod Greene. I'm currently a Registered Nurse in the US Navy. I just returned from deployment where I met an investor that mostly worked in the "Rehab/Flip" sector of real estate investing. He provided me with a few book titles and a little bit of background knowledge on what it took to delve into the world of real estate. The books I read and his guidance gave me an unreal amount of motivation and determination.

With that being said, once I got back from deployment (last week), I contacted a real estate agent and am now beginning to look at properties. My short-term goal is to acquire a few 2-4 plex's and rent them out in order to start some cash flow and begin building equity. Long-term goal is to graduate to buying and renting commercial properties for an increase in cash flow and equity building.

This site has been great in providing information and it seems to be a great place to do some networking as well. As I am brand new in this particular endeavor, I'm slightly apprehensive in the overall process. Everyone says that this is completely normal and that the hardest part is jumping into the process of the first purchase. I'm hoping this is true.

Lastly, I look forward to networking with other investors, eventually finding a mentor and learning as much as possible.
