Hello bigger pockets!

Finally taking the step of introducing myself on the forums. I'm a former line cook looking to start investing.

I've been spending the past month listening to the BP podcasts, and am on my second listen through on "The Book on Rental Property Investing". I just picked up "What Every Real Estate Investor Needs to Know About Cash Flow" and am excited to grasp a better understanding of the financial mechanics of real estate.

I plan on spending the next couple months educating myself so I can truly understand the basics and process. So far I'm interested in doing buy and hold investing with single family homes. I was curious as to how the forclosure buying process works and would love recommendations on educational material (books especially). Because of how hot the local market is I feel like it would be a good strategy to get my first deal.

Excited to start this journey of growth with the BP community. Thank you for your time to those who see this.
