My name is Travis, and I'm a young entrepreneur in Northern VA who has "lost his way" in the world of higher education and 60-hour-a-week jobs.

Currently, I am completing a masters degree in Middle East studies, but my real desire is to pursue real estate investing. My wife and I view this as an avenue for gaining financial independence.

We purchased our first rental property this summer because we ultimately want to own long-term cash flow properties. That said, we need a strategy of building capital for future deals. My wife works full time, and I am trying to decide whether to throw myself into REI (I have until next May to make that decision) or "get a real job." I'm not opposed to both.

The reason I'm on BP is for the education and the network. We need to learn more about REI before we make anymore big decisions or life changes.
