Greatings from Cincy!
I thought I should give a formal introduction, as I have been lurking for sometime with a few interactions on the forum. I have also had the pleasure of meeting a couple of BiggerPockets members at the Cincinnati REIA. Anyway, a bit about myself...
I have long been interested in real estate. Growing up I enjoyed watching Norm and Bob (yes old school TOS) fix their old houses and turn them into things of functional beauty. Outside of a practiced home owner (multiple relocations) and family handyman I'm new to the world of real estate investment. Many years ago, I had considered about getting into real estate investment but life happened (kids, jobs, etc). Now I'm in place where I'm ready to jump in. Like many, I'm looking to gain more financial control over my life so I can spend more time with my family and on my other interests without the dependency of the corporate board.
My mission is to create positive monthly cashflow and long-term wealth via building and managing portfolio of preferred residential rental properties in the markets they serve. The ultimate goal is to achieve $7,000 in semi-passive income in the next 5-10 years.
Hi Brad,
Glad you stepped out into the spotlight.
Real estate investing is a never ending process of enjoyment and fulfillment if you do it right.

@Joel Owens Thanks. Glad to be out in the open.
@Jerry W. I have been reading up on the learn section. I have also read a lot in the past. It's now just a matter putting down the books and getting on the horse! I'll definitely use the forum to assess my deals.
Welcome to BP Nation Brad, it is always nice to hear when lurkers finally pull the trigger to engage the community. Keep it up.

Thanks for the warm welcome and happy to be here.
Thanks for taking the time to introduce yourself @Brad S.
I like that you have a realistic & measurable goal that you've set for yourself. It makes all the difference. I'm not sure if you have or not yet, but try and break down how many properties you need to acquire to actually achieve that passive income level. Then you can break that down into yearly goals and so forth.
I've got all my goals down on my profile for people to checkout for motivation and to keep me accountable if you want to check it out! :)
@Mehran K. Great advice!
Welcome! Start your investing career by buying 4115 smith rd in norwood!!
Shameless plug. Anyways, congrats on getting involved and into real estate. Cincy reia is a good one. Follow them to the bar after the event and thats where everyone really gets to know people. They're very open. Mary & Joe are two very nice people, they run the landlord sub-forum, I encourage you join that,
@Joe Delia The Cincy club is great. I have been taking advantage of the sub-groups and after meetings. These really give you a chance to meet and network and hear the "really-really" of the area and advice. I just saw Mary & Joe last night at the landlord sub-forum. They're a riot!
I'll PM you about Norwood...
