Looking for mentorship/advice.
Hello BiggerPockets community, I am new to the world of investments and seek to achieve financial freedom. I am resided in the Staten Island NY and will focus in the Albany, Brooklyn, Staten Island and New Jersey area. I am tired of the typical 9-5 job and want to make something more of myself. Steve, sounds like you are on the right path as you have a pain point of your 9-5 not being fulfilling. Real estate investing is amazing and can provide the ability to replace your income but remember it is also hard and multi-faceted which is why you can make money at it. Start small but stay consistent. Deal finding seems to be the hardest thing so start driving around your neighborhood and look for all small multifamily and houses in need of some love, get on the tax assessor page and try to contact the owner and see if they want to sell. Also, coming from someone who did not work a w-2 when they started investing. Stay in it as long as you stomach it as you build up your portfolio. You have access to much better loan terms
