Hello from the newest out-of-state investor!

Hello! My name is Chase Kaye and I've made a goal to get my first rental property by the end of 2022. I am brand new to the game. I just started my search a week ago and am committed to not getting analysis paralysis.

I've been traveling the country for the past few years, working remotely in tech, and having a girlfriend who works as a Travel Nurse. I am originally from New York but lived in Seattle, San Diego and Hawaii. I've saved up a fair bit of capital from my job and stock market portfolio and now looking to diversify. 

Is anyone else doing out-of-state investing? How did you pick your market? I am currently looking in the midwest since my money goes a bit farther than on the coasts. Zeroing in on Colombus, Ohio. Anyways looking forward to connecting and chatting!
