20 Year Rookie in NY looking to connect and learn

Hi Everyone,

Happy to have found Bigger Pockets just recently and trying to catchup on all 500+ podcasts! I've been a real estate rookie for 20 years and now finally motivated to really focus. I bought my first apt at the age of 23 in NYC and ended up renting it for 6 years when I moved abroad with my husband. Since then, we have been landlords. 1031 exchanged that apt for what we thought was a turn key apt in Brooklyn which turned into a total headache that we couldn't sell for 9 years. We finally sold it this year after several tries and have 1031 exchanged it into 2 properties - 1 in FL and 1 in TX (closed today).  So now, we're really in it and trying to fix all the mistakes we made over the years and set real systems to plan for our retirement hopefully in the next 10 years. With 3 kids about to hit the college years in 2 years, we have a lot of planning to do.

Looking forward to all the advice and connections on Bigger Pockets. If there's anyone in NYC/Westchester County that wants to connect - give a holler.
