So after about 10 months stalking the BP site I decided to go ahead and post in the newbie forum. I'd like to say I was doing my due diligence, but honestly it is more like laziness on my part. That said, now that I've made the leap get ready for a slew of posts people! I'm an active duty army officer stationed in Ft. Polk. For those o us from CENLA you know what I'm dealing with. I just moved here from Oahu Hawaii and it has been a huge change of lifestyles. I've been in the army for 14 years and it has been a great trip, although it leaves little time for other activities. Right now beer brewing is the extent I my hobbies. I am looking to get more active into RE investing and feel that this community will be a great way to do that. I own one investment property in florida that was a short sale purchase that I've had about four year now. I have an MBA with a concentration in real estate from FSU (go noles!). My main goal in getting that was to streamline my realtor license learning while setting myself up to establish my own development company upon retirement. I'm looking to establish a one stop shop business that does all RE processes in house (arch, general contracting, realtor, leasing, etc). It's ambitious, but it's what I dream about a night...instead of getting a sports car. Right now I'm looking for positive cash flow rentals for long term. Aren't we all? My main issue is that I am located in LA and I would really like to be purchasing properties in FL. Properties here aren't bad, but I would rather not own something where I don't plan on returning. So, that is me. Feel like I was a bit open there. Almost cathartic. Jared
