Hi everyone,

My name is Matt and work as a property manager in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I've been taking courses and have recently signed up for a consultation program in US Real Estate. In doing my research required for the consulting program, I stumble across this amazing site. I wish I had come upon it a little earlier as it seems most people in this community are eager and willing to help. I have a lot of time to offer and would be delighted to help anyone out, even with my limited knowledge.

Why do I need and want to learn more: About 6 months back, after my initial course, I was able to get two offers accepted in Chicago on foreclosed three flats.I had my contacts in place, the finances in place as it was a cash deal, and was ready to close on it. I ended up walking away from both due to the rehab costs. I learned many lessons in these two failed attempts. 1 - Make sure you have the right team (realtor, inspector, contractor, property manager), which I didn't and 2 - make sure you just don't settle for any deal, only great ones.

I would love to network, communicate and just simply talk to some like minded people that are interested in real estate.

To your success and hopefully I will have the opportunity to work with some of you.

Matt
