Hello BP nation! I'm new to real estate investing but I'm not new to real estate. I currently manage the real estate portfolio for a renewable energy company in downtown Houston. My job is to protect the company's real estate interests through administering its land contracts. I love to read about real estate investing and I listen to podcasts during my commute from the Cypress area. My ultimate goal is to continue working my day job and build wealth through investing.

My first step is to network through BP and join a local REIA. (I'd love to receive feedback about RICH and others.) All the while, I plan to take real estate courses online and become a real estate agent. Then in early 2014, I'd like to spend the money to correctly form an LLC and begin marketing for properties. I will offer several solutions to sellers. For motivated sellers in need of immediate cash, I'll wholesale the property. For complacent sellers, I'll list the property at retail. As Gary Keller said, "Listings are the gift from the Real Estate Gods."

I'm excited to have found a group of like-minded people and I can't wait to start meeting some of you face to face at northwest meet-up sessions. Thanks!

Welcome to the BP community. I just got hooked on the podcasts and listen to them while driving...lots of useful information.

IMO, the local REIAs are good to network but usually have a "guru" trying to pitch their products/services/affiliations...at least that is my experience in my local area.

I've considered starting my own local group to network and roundtable discuss ideas/deals/etc... and no "gurus" allowed :)
