Newbie in Omaha, NE

Hello everyone. My name is Edward Myers (obviously, but I feel weird if I don't introduce myself :P ). I live in Omaha, NE and am looking to get into real estate. Goal is passive income, but I'm willing to do whatever I need to do to get some better starting money. I'm a veteran (go Air Force ;) ) which is how I ended up in Omaha. Born in Lansing, MI but grew up in Phoenix, AZ. Spent most of my working career in the IT field, but I'm tired of that and am looking for something that will take care of my family with retirement age coming down the pipe (in another couple of decades). I like long walks on the bea... oops, wrong thread (not to mention my wife would kill me :) ). Speaking of which, she says I tend to ramble, so I'm stopping for now. :)
