Any JADU/ ADU permitters out there?

If anyone had success getting their JADU/ ADU permitted, please tell me how you did it.

I was told to use Government Code 65852.2 for ADUs, not AB-68. While AB-68 is one of the bills that updated ADU law, it was merged with two other bills, and this merger has led to some changes.

Currently, the section you referenced reads “One accessory dwelling unit or junior accessory dwelling unit per lot…”. Also, one of the requirements is that the JADU comply with JADU law (65852.22); JADU law states that the JADU must be within the single-family residence.

LADBS seems to have the correct interpretation of the scenario; you cannot have a JADU within the space of an accessory structure.

I am hoping that this changes in the near future because my ADU was permitted with an attached 460sf storage which wld be perfect for a JADU.
