How should I title personal use Commercial real estate
I recently have had the opportunity to purchase the commercial building I run my Remodeling business out of. My question is how do I title this property? My accountant advised me to put it in a separate LLC and rent it back to myself. The reason I have an issue with this Is that Florida charges sales tax on commercial real estate rent (even if it's the same owner). This would amount to about an additional 4K a year to Uncle Sam. If I have a million dollar general liability policy through my business would I be safe to title it in the businesses name to save the unnecessary sales tax? Or is there another way to do this that I am missing?
