? ESA letter expiration

I have a ESA letter dated, June 17, 2017 from a new tenant. Is there any guidance on when these letters must renewed?

Bring this to the tenant's attention, and ask for them to renew. What is your plan if they cannot renew the letter? Do you allow pets? If not, then ask them to renew the letter or remove the animal from the property. If you do allow pets, ask them to renew or start paying $X pet rent plus a $X pet fee. (Be careful with your wording. ESA is not a pet, unless it no longer has an ESA prescription. Fees are generally not refunded, but deposits generally are refundable.)
