Questions on land purchase in California

Hello BiggerPockets family! 

My family is looking into buying some land in California to place a home on as well as have a small personal garden for now.  We are looking for 5 acres or so (10 acres max if the area and price are right).

I've seen various fees associated with land purchases in California.  

Can anyone help me to see what average costs are to buy land there (developed land vs land that needs creature comforts put in)?
