As others have said, it is all about making sure you find the right deal. In general, and I know a lot of members may disagree with this notion entirely, the market here tends to correspond much better with long term holds than month-to-month cash flow.
That is not to say it is necessarily one or the other, nor that the opportunities in our market are for everyone. However, I will say that the opportunities exist and people are very successful capitalizing on them.
One strategy I would definitely recommend looking into and consider implementing (if you decide this market is for you) is "BRRRR." In my experience, those deals tend to have the highest success rate in SD out of the various buy & hold strategies.
