SFH areas in the SF Bay Area

With SFH's so expensive in the San Fransisco Bay Area, where are folks buying SFHs as their primary residence?anywhere in the bay area its hard to cashflow and I guess we should only bank on appreciation ,right? I see folks buying the Dublin/Pleasanton market from affordability point of view, even those areas don't cashflow and appreciation is the only bet, I'm wondering what's the investment strategy for people buying SFH's in the Bay Area right now? which areas are they buying? I am seriously considering buying an SFH as primary residence and really confused as to which areas I should be targetting ?
