New Tenant Inspection Rules around Birmingham AL Areas

Just heard recently that investors were selling their properties in high numbers due to city requiring landlords to carry out inspections before new tenants move into properties. Not section 8 type properties either.  All rental properties.  Anyone have any more info on this?

@Chuck Dangar

@Trey Crusey is right. This is only for Centerpoint.

It’s to be determined how effective they will be at enforcing these inspections and what improvements these inspections will require.

I don’t see people selling off properties there right now.

However, Investors are definitely pricing rehab projects differently. City permitting has significantly raised costs. So properties that need work are sitting on the market more than they used to.
