Warning for new STR hosts

I received this message from a VRBO guest wanting to book one of my places for 10 nights. This has happened twice before. It is a known scam so just be careful out there.....! 

I replied (in part) that they must book through VRBO with a card. The other part I'll leave out.....

I've seen this before. I like to mess with them when I was selling something on CL. I'd have them send me their fake cashiers check. Then I would say it has to clear the bank but I haven't been able to get to the bank yet. I'd keep them going for as long as possible before they got mad and gave up. They usually spend money to overnight the fake check so they were out some money.
