1 Bedroom or 2 Bedroom STR Purchase Maui

Brae Schulte
Posted

Looking into purchasing a STR on Maui in Kihei.

Wondering if anyone has any good insights into whether a 1 Bedroom or 2 Bedroom is a better investment in terms of rentability?

Thanks!

It honestly depends on the complex, etc.  I often find that some 2 bedrooms gain near the same rental income as a 1 bed, but are at a much higher purchase price. Two bedrooms will always be more attractive however, at the end of the day- people just want to come to Maui and will take what they can get. Also, keep in mind our unprecedented LOW INVENTORY.  Think about what and how long you're willing to wait or if you just want to get your foot in the door.

    Hope this helps!
