Orlando or other Florida short term markets

I am looking at possibly buying a short term rental or 2 (or 3).  My parents live in Merritt Island, FL and suggested Orlando or Cocoa Beach.  What areas of Orlando would be best? Or would my money be put to better use in another market completely?  I’m not married to Florida just looking for something that will make good money.  Thanks!

Hi @Tori Lowenstein!  When considering Orlando, you are actually talking about the Disney market -- Kissimmee and Davenport. Orlando proper is Orange County, which has very limited legal vacation rental options. We are property managers with about 90 properties in the Disney area. PM me and we are happy to share some tips and advice. The Disney market is coming back strong after the pandemic and it's a great time to get involved.
